Tonight's party, that is.
My sweet Ruby turned SIXTEEN on Tuesday. So, we are having a surprise party in her honor tonight.
My In-love's are on their way from Sarasota as I type, Peach and I picked up the decorations last night, and as far as I can tell, Ruby has no clue!
Today will be filled with "Grandma and Papa are coming" prep (code for "we're havin' a party" prep), cake baking, and Mama's baby is a grown-up angst.
How did this happen?! She was walking around in her daddy's dress shoes just yesterday...today she can't even fit into MY shoes! Just last week she answered the phone, "Hey-yo, Daddy!", and today it's "Pink residence, this is Ruby speaking."
I have a very tender, wistful post in my head, but my heart won't let me type it. Maybe, just maybe, if I don't put it down in words, it won't be real. Maybe I'll wake up tomorrow and she'll still be three...
Maybe, but probably not.
And so, I'm out of luck.
Pray for me friends, this isn't gonna be easy.

I hear ya! I'm still having a hard time that I have 13 yr olds. I had a gooey post but couldn't do it.
Hope y'all have a lovely time and that your sweet Ruby enjoys herself.
I expect pictures, and details, and play-by-plays, and pictures... Have fun!!
Happy Birthday, baby girl! Sweet 16!

Aww, I hope the party goes great. I know how it feels to see them grow up so fast. I also have a 16 year old and all I can think about is him leaving soon. I watched a video of them (my 3) the other day when they were little and I cried. Oh well can't go back, only make today better than tomorrow!
She's adorable!
I want details!! Hope the party was a big hit and that your family had a wonderful Easter.
Birthday wishes!!!
I hope your Easter was a sweet celebration, too!
Happy birthday to your sweet daughter. Hope the party is a really wonderful time and you all make many good memories to store away for sake keeping to bring out another day. connie
Missin your posts, Fuschia!!!!
I feel your pain, Fuschia! Can we just put a brick on their head to keep them from growing up? So bittersweet!
Still checkin' in on you ...
Wanted: One pinky person to reappear.
Hey girl! WAKE UP!!! Worried about you!
